I am proud to be the Director of our Outstanding Teacher Training provision and hope that the information here is helpful to you as you start to consider joining this rewarding profession.

Our inclusive training hubs, both in Portsmouth and on the Isle of Wight, offer a one-year initial teacher training programme leading to a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status in Primary Education.

In February 2024, Ofsted recognised that, ‘Trainees’ passion for education is fully rewarded when they join this superb school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) programme. Leaders draw out individual talents and enable each trainee to develop their unique teacher persona. Leaders’ devotion to each trainee’s well-being is remarkable.’

We pride ourselves not only on being research-informed and having high standards of education, but on our nurturing ethos and personalised programme. We offer a holistic approach to initial teacher training and place a high priority on the wellbeing of all involved in, and training on, our diverse course.

I am joined on our course by an exceptional team of colleagues who bring their own experiences, knowledge and skills to your training and we all look forward to meeting and supporting you on your journey into teaching!
